dynamic search of contacts

I am a new entrant into galaxy tab family. My name is Murali.
I have found one inconvinience inthe contact search.
In nokia contacts search box as you are typing for evry keyin the query gets excuted and displays the result. So guessing of the forgotten name becomes very easy.
But in galaxy tab since it open a separate windoa for our search word typing  unles you close the search key word entey box the query result cannot be seen.
Is there any other method?
